September Blessings!

It’s hard to believe that it’s already September, it feels as though summer just flew by!

Now that September is here, we are entering into the Season of Creation, which began this Sunday September 15th. Over the next five weeks, we will be marking this season in our worship, and Rev. Tara Ann will be offering a sermon series. The themes will be

September 15th Climate Crisis: What is it?
September 22nd Climate Crisis: How has our Faith understanding changed?
September 29th Climate Crisis: Where is God?
October 6th Climate Crisis: What is our calling: reclaiming our role as Good Stewards
October 13th Climate Crisis: Gratitude and transformation

During these five weeks, I will also be offering a weekly “challenge” to inspire us to re-think the choices we make, when it comes to the environment. The idea for this challenge was inspired by the facebook page “52 Weeks for Earth” which offers weekly challenges for the year (it started on Earth Day 2019).

This week’s challenge, which I revealed this morning in worship is:

Make time to pick up a few pieces of garbage

With having just experienced the effects of Dorian this past week, there is probably extra debris and garbage in our yards, our beaches, our roadways etc. So I’m challenging you to take a few minutes this week to do some clean-up! Make it a family activity, or do it on a walk or bike ride. If you are able to complete this challenge, send Rev. Tara Ann a photo and we’ll post it to our blog and facebook page!

Blessings, Rev. Tara Ann
