Time Away!

Summer is now here in full force! We are almost a month into July, with warm sunny days, and cool rainy ones. Summer is a great time to relax with loved ones, and get caught up on things you hope to do all year-read a favourite book, organize part of the house, work on some small project that we might make with our hands. The same is true for me! I’m also looking forward to some time away in the coming weeks. I will be taking some vacation time, as well as continuing education from July 22nd to August 4th. Starting with some time at our cottage in New Brunswick for a few days, we will then spend most of our time at Berwick United Church Camp in Berwick Nova Scotia. We will be attending an all ages camp for 10 days, with family and friends who seem more like family to us!

I also use this time at Berwick Camp to help further my own education. This year, I am looking forward to the morning program which will be led by the Right Rev. David Giuliano, former Moderator of the United Church of Canada; as well as hearing from the minister-in-residence each evening, The Rev. Dr.Rodger Nishioka. I usually pick a book or two off of my “to read” shelf in the office, to start (and hopefully finish!), that will help aid me in my ministry and personal spiritual growth. I am looking forward to this time away, but I also look forward to returning and sharing with you, some of my experiences and learnings.

This also means that there will be no sermons posted to the blog during these two weeks, but stay tuned because there will be more to come when I return!
